Reviews of 2009 Hyrid Cars

2009 is going to be quite an eventful year for hybrid cars. Till now, the Toyota Prius has remained the king of the hill but this is surely not going to be for long. Other car makers are slowly getting their game together and offering tough competition to the Japanese giant. The new Toyota Prius will be launched in January 2009 at the Deroit Auto Show. This is the third generation of the Prius and is obviously riding on the success of the second generation model which sold more than all the other hybrids put together.
If we care to make a review of 2009 hybrid car line-up, we see that there is another big contender in the form of the Honda Insight. This was one of the first hybrids to hit the market and it seems they are going to lock horns together again. The Insight is going to be worth watching since it is going to be priced several thousand dollars less than the Prius. Another hybrid car which is going to make news is the Honda Civic Hybrid. Mercedes will also launch their first hybrid this year with lithium ion batteries instead of the conventional nickel hydride found in other hybrids.
