The Porsche Lighting Switch
Having been a fan of the Boxster and Porsche in general for the past 15 years and then some, I have always followed their design changes from the original 911 models to the newer Boxsters and even the Cayman (what a mistake). For the most part, when Porsche do a design change, they make it fairly significant and only really do it after a good period has passed. Nobody wants to buy a Porsche and have it outdated the following year after all. However, with that said, there has been one design change that has angered me since 2003. That is the switch from the old headlamps / rear lamps to the new, clear versions. This relatively simple change single handedly made all Boxsters prior to 2003 look extremely old and dated. I could understand if the model of the 2003 Boxster was that different to the old Boxster, but it wasn’t. It was just a subtle change that made all the difference. Of course, you can pick up Porsche lighting and Porsche accessories yourself and upgrade your own Boxster to make it appear newer, but that’s not the point. This whole change looked like it was setup just to make more money off old Porsche drivers.
You might also want to check out the range of Porsche exhausts too as that changed slightly also. As did the read spoiler.
