Buying A Used Car
There are lots of things to look out for when buying a used car. Obviously, the first thing to check is the general condition of the car overall. You can usually spot a poorly maintained car just by looking at it. If you’re in doubt, don’t buy it. Used cars are often sold as seen, so what you see, you’re buying. The single, most important thing to check when buying a car is the vehicles history. You need to check if it has been in any accidents which may have caused major damage to the key parts such as the chassis etc. Most local car dealers will not offer cars that have been previously written off, but if you’re buying privately, this is something you should most definitely check out. The other things you should be checking are on the car itself, firstly the tyres. Be sure to check the tread depth and also for uneven wear. Once inside the car itself, be sure to check that the steering wheel rotates smoothly and that the gears change with ease. When it comes to starting the car, you need to be sure that the engine idles smoothly and revs evenly. At this point, you should also check the type of smoke that the exhaust is emitting. Blue smoke is a bad sign.
Wherever you live in the UK, you will find lots of car dealers.
London Car Dealers tend to offer slightly higher prices than the rest of the UK but often stock a much wider range of vehicles. If you’re from the North and London is a little bit too far to travel, there are lots of good Glasgow Car Dealers out there who will often do you a good deal on new or used cars.
