The Mazda Taiki

Posted by admin  Published in Uncategorized

Mazda challenged their international design studio when they asked for a vehicle that best captured the “essence of flow.” The Mazda Taiki is just a hint of what is still to come in style and technology for the manufacturer.

The Taiki is a two-door, two-seat sports car with intense bodywork that mimics airflow. The word Taiki is Japanese for atmosphere. The vehicle has a wind-swept profile and awesome strakes line the sides of the car.

The inspiration for the Mazda Taiki comes from the big fish-shaped paper streamers know as climbing carp streamers known as Japanese koinobori and a mythical dress that made it possible for maidens to fly. The result was a canopy of glass with unique fenders and rear detail. The rear wheels of the Mazda Taiki help the vehicle obtain zero lift. Other vehicles require spoilers in order to create a downforce, however, the tunnel shape of the rear wheels create enough thrust that the wheels stick to the tarmac as if they were glued to it. From the dashboard to the door trim, the interior space is dynamic.

Performance centers on the rotary engine sports packaging. The Mazda Taiki includes the RENESIS 16X rotary engine, which sets a new standard for driving performance.

Toyota Trucks: A-BAT Concept

Posted by admin  Published in Trucks

With more people moving out to the urban life and taking on the daily hour commutes, Toyota set out to create a car that would fit the country boy and the working man all at once, so they built the concept car A-BAT. The A-BAT concept is to bring together the urban demands that most people fill with a truck with the long daily commutes and city driving most people find impossible to avoid.

The car like truck gets the good fuel mileage needed for the commutes, easy maneuverability, four foot truck bed and all of the other necessities for your urban commuter. Built for work or play, the A-BAT has room for four while transporting anything in the back bed, it is the best of both worlds and has the green friendly features that many new car buyers look for to help with gas costs.

The interior has all of the bells and whistles you could expect from portable navigation to built in Wi-Fi internet connection. The truck even has built in solar panels in the dashboard to assist in energy and help with battery drain. While no concept car is a lock for production, this would be one that has everything any urban commuter could need!

Mustang Makeover

Posted by admin  Published in Mustang

Built for speed and comfort, Ford has put together a concept car that would make any lead footed driver smile. The Giugiaro Mustang Concept was built with the love and car of Ford racing which added features to make it stand out and pass by any crowd. Keeping true to the Ford Mustang tradition, it has all of the new jaw dropping design and features you would come to expect from a concept car while keeping true to the traditionally iconic look of the mustang.

Adding a supercharger to the usual 4.6 liter V-8 is just the start for this monster which produces 500 horsepower! To keep the sporty feel it also added the GT handling pack which includes a lowered car, stiffer shocks and springs. The car has a very aerodynamic look and would be sure to turn any heads it drove past.

Not slated to be moved into production, the Mustang Concept may never leave the showroom floors but has found a large number of followers wishing it would. The next mustang is scheduled to be released in 2010 and many mustang fans are hoping to see the Giugiaro in some form or fashion when it is announced.

The Most Famous Concept Car

Posted by admin  Published in Famous

While everyone growing up has seen the show and wish they could own it, not many realized that the Bat Mobile was actually the 1955 Lincoln Futura Concept car. Built in only three months, the Futura was shown at various showrooms in 1955 but never gained in popularity as it was deemed to excessive for the time period.

Years later the car ended up in the hands of George Barris who happened to be hired to come up with the design for vehicle to be used in a new television show called Batman. With only three weeks to design before the filming began, Barris turned to Futura Concept car for inspiration. With only a few changes here and there to add bat signs, the Futura went on to be one of the most popular concept cars ever to be built.

Some of the cutting edge features of the day built into this concept car was a built in compass into the dashboard to help the driver know the direction they were heading, warning lights for fuel, battery, temperature and high beam indicator. While almost every feature seems common or even out dated to day, makes you wonder what concept cars fifty years from now will have in them.

Move Over Mini Cooper

Posted by admin  Published in Mini

When you think of a small car, something that is even described as tiny but considered highly gas efficient and an easy to navigate automobile driving around, what comes to your mind? An Audi? While I am sure you were thinking Mini Cooper, times could be changing as Audi built a new A1 Metroproject Quattro concept car to compete with the Mini Cooper. Some early pictures of the car have been released and the rumor mills is kicking in full gear as the car is to be displayed at a car show later this year.

Built as a hybrid, the Audi will be extremely gas efficient with its option of gas or diesel and is said to produce 150 horsepower. It will also keep with the sporty feel in the interior with a flat bottomed steering wheel, large clear display for your tachometer and speedometer as well as bucket seats arranged unlike any you have seen before.

The estimated price of the Audi once production ready would be around $20,000 which is extremely competitive for the quality of the car being built. This would make the possibilities of seeing the Audi in the next few years very high. If you were thinking about buying a mini cooper, you may want to think again and go to the next car show to get a glimpse of what might be coming down the road.

Glance at the future

Posted by admin  Published in The Future

Ever wonder what the future could have in store for you? Well wonder no more and head to the next car show to see the latest and greatest in automobile advancements. Concept cars are created to demonstrate or display what the future could hold in the automobile industry. While not built to be practical or even sold in production, their idea is to show what the future could have in store for different product lines and feature ground breaking concepts that will be implemented over the years to come.

Unlike cars off of the production line, concept cars are not built with any regulation or safety standards in mind. This allows the creator to use their imagination a great deal and implement ideas that are not yet proven or allowed based on current laws. Since concept cars are built to be whatever the creator wants it to be, they would require a great deal of work to even be considered production ready and so generally do not make it out of the showroom.
